The SuCCESS Project and the Euro-South American Criminology Network promote on February 28th, at 10 am (Brasília time), the SuCCESS Symposium – Research on Criminological Themes. 

The event, which will be held exclusively online, is in partnership with the Institute of Advanced Studies – Ribeirão Preto Pole, the Interdisciplinary Criminology Study Group (Geicrim) of USP and the Post-Graduate Program in Psychology of the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Languages of Ribeirão Preto of USP.

The debate will feature four speakers. Mara Verónica Jimeno Jiménez, deputy director of the Criminology Centre at the Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha, will speak about victimization processes in childhood and the development of antisocial behaviour in adolescence. Luiz Guilherme Scorzafave, coordinator of the Social Economy Studies and Research Laboratory (Lepes) at USP, will analyze longitudinal data on victimization and social and emotional skills.

Yeni Rocio Cruz Manrique, a member of the research group on child development and learning promotion at Mexico’s Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, will speak about school victimization and marital violence among school-aged adolescents. Finally, Marina Rezende Bazon, the coordinator of the USP Study and Research Group on Psychosocial Development and Intervention (Gepdip), discusses the exposure of adolescents from socially vulnerable segments to adverse experiences both in the family and in the community, as well as the development of socio-emotional skills.

The moderator will be the coordinator of the Euro-South American Criminology Network, Hugo Morales Cordova.
