Crisp/UFMG (Brazil) researchers have just launched a book that seeks to contribute to the reflections on the theme: “As many Marias – Stories about female incarceration”.

The Success project has made it possible to strengthen academic relationships, not only within the scope of teaching activities but also in research and development! In this context, researchers from the Crisp/UFMG (Brazil) team, involved in the project, completed an investigation, having as reference the research work presented by researchers from the University of Minho (another team partner of the project), who have drawn attention to the specificities of female incarceration, as well as its perverse effects on family and community dynamics. The work carried out in the Brazilian socio-cultural reality resulted in a book that seeks to contribute to the reflections on the theme: “As many Marias – Stories about female incarceration”. More information about the research and the book can be obtained through email Ludmila Ribeiro (lmlr@ufmg.br).
