The SuCCESS project has started in January 2020 with all partners committed to strengthening the South American teachers and researchers capacity to develop and improve higher educational offers in the areas of criminology and public safety. In this initial stage of the project (started in January 2020) we face the additional challenge of the COVID-19 impacts, which resulted in the cancelation of flights for the Kick-off-meeting in Elche and the implementation of all activities online. Under the coordination of the University of São Paulo (Brazil), SuCCESS partners are setting in motion the workplan, starting with the needs assessment of participating universities in South America.
SuCCESS is a large consortium bringing together Universities from Europe (Portugal and Spain) and South America (Brazil, Colombia, Peru) plus a non-academic partner (INOVA+ from Portugal), all working towards the improvement of the Education and Training offer in the criminology field. Soon there will be more news on the next steps of the project and the creation of the Euro-South American Interuniversity Network on Criminology and Public Security Teaching.
