The Department of Law and Political Science of the Universidad Católica San Pablo (UCSP) will soon start classes of the first class of the Master’s in criminal law, at the end of September.
The new Postgraduate Program aims to achieve the specialization of professionals in the field of criminal law. Furthermore, it looks forward to analyzing the criminality phenomenon from the study of Crime Theory and the new forms of crime. This project seeks to increase the formation possibilities in Perú regarding delinquency prevention and treatment studies.
It is expected that, in the future, this will help to consolidate the study and research of the possible responses to delinquency in Peruvian society. For this, synergies with other educational proposals will be created that the Universidad Católica San Pablo is currently working on.
One of the results expected is the planned Postgraduate course in Criminology, which will start in the first semester of 2023. This is presented as an innovative program that is being developed as part of the ERASMUS+ SuCCESS project and in coordination between the Law and Psychology Professional Programs.
It is necessary to have a broader development of sciences related to the analysis of criminality; since it is a complex social phenomenon, it needs to be addressed from an interdisciplinary perspective for its adequate treatment.
