The Spanish Network of Young Researchers in Criminology (REJIC) is a platform and meeting point for researchers starting their academic careers in Criminology.
For several years, the Spanish Society for Criminological Research (SEIC) has had a unit made up of young researchers starting their research careers: the Spanish Network of Young Criminology Researchers (REJIC). The main objective of the REJIC is to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and academic collaboration between young researchers in Spain. It also disseminates information on calls, grants, contracts, prizes, and scientific events related to Criminology and seeks collaboration with young researchers from other countries.
During 2021, the REJIC has carried out a variety of activities, such as the organization of different editions of the “Crimi & Beers” event, the publication of the book ” Forging new paths: novel research in criminology” as a result of the II Meeting of Young Researchers in Criminology held at the University of Malaga, and the launch of the publication of a special issue in the Journal Electronic Criminology.
During 2018 and 2020, the REJIC organized 2 editions of the Meeting of Young Researchers in Criminology, in which Young people from Europe (Spain, Italy, Switzerland…) and Latin America (Brazil, Chile…) participated. It thus becomes a tool that not only benefits young Spanish researchers but is also a point of support for young people in the international community.
