Public Prosecutors and scientific evidence: strengthening the dialogue between criminology and the criminal justice system.

On February 26th, 2021, Eduardo Saad-Diniz, a researcher at the “Erasmus SUCCESS Project”, debated with Brazilian Public Prosecutors some strategies to strengthen the dialogue between criminology and the criminal justice system. After discussing some recent advances in the field of experimental criminology, he emphasized the need to enhance the distribution of justice in the criminal justice system based on scientific evidence. The initiative intends to open more space for future collaborations that enable more consistent policies in the Brazilian criminal justice system.

The meeting on “Evidence-based Public Prosecutor’s Management”, was held by the National Public Prosecution School, in collaboration with the School of Goiás, Espírito Santo, and Paraná. Saad-Diniz is Professor of Criminology at University of São Paulo (Ribeirão Preto Law School and Latin American Studies).
